But the number without context is useless. 200 players on Lineage 2 High Five — a live server with sieges. 200 on Interlude — could be a bot farm. 50 on Ragnarok — a full WoE community. Look at online relative to the game and chronicle, not absolute numbers.

Project age — more reliable than any description. A server running 2+ years has proven its viability. New projects with wipe date less than a month — a lottery: either GS from day one, or shutdown in two weeks.

Donation model. In the private server community, pay-to-win is a red line. If the shop sells top gear or refines for money, PvP balance is dead before launch. Normal model: cosmetics, mounts, exp boosts.
